SPACIOUS
The X-Mid Pro 2+ takes the X-Mid geometry (which naturally boosts interior volume) into a larger form factor to create an oversized 2P tent that is palatial for two people and optimized for sleeping two people in the same direction (head to head).
Compared to the regular X-Mid Pro 2, the floor has been widened from 46" to 52" (1.32m) to accommodate all wide (25" / 64 cm) pads. This makes it the world's lightest tent that can fit two wide pads (based on the tent weight + minimum number of stakes). The already excellent headroom has also been increased with a taller 49" (1.24 m) peak height. This adds headroom and also steepens the end walls to increase the useable length for hikers up to 6'6". We also reduced the rotation of the diagonal ridgeline to create more even headroom on both sides to optimize the tent for two people sleeping in the same direction. Compared to competing A-frame style tents, both sides of the X-Mid Pro 2+ have substantially more head clearance.
What hasn't changed are the dual generous vestibules, which are large enough to fit the biggest packs and conveniently place the main area beside the door instead of blocking it. No other tent provides this combination of simplicity and space at such a low weight.
STORMWORTHY
The X-Mid Pro 2+ is a hybrid/singlewall tent that provides the excellent stormworthiness the X-Mid tents are highly regarded for. It combines ultra strong Dyneema® Composite Fabric with an ideal shape for handling wind and snow loads because the geometry gives all of the panels a consistently moderate slope. There are no horizontal roof panels to catch snow, nor vertical side panels to catch wind. The tent has a robust structure with 2 poles that makes it stronger than similar pyramid style tents, yet still pitches solidly with as few as 4 stakes. In stormy conditions, the tent can be reinforced with peak and side panel guyouts and up to 12 stakes along the base.
More than just surviving tough weather, the X-Mid Pro 2+ is designed to provide a more comfortable experience in tough conditions. It does that via a long list of protections including protected doorways (to keep falling rain out), a fly first pitch (to keep the floor dry), and a wind stable pitch (not vulnerable to collapse at any steps). Unlike other tents in this class, the X-Mid Pro 2+ still has a full coverage fly that extends low to the ground to block drafts, spindrift, and rain splatter - yet can also be lifted higher for increased ventilation. Competing tents trim away the lower part of the fly to save weight but this leaves you most exposed.

The X-Mid Pro 2+ has a focus on simplicity and ease of use because when conditions are tough you want a tent that works effortlessly.
Most notably, the X-Mid Pro 2+ has the same simple pitch the X-Mid tents are highly regarded for. The rectangular base is intuitive to stake out and the tent can be pitched with as few as 4 stakes. There are no odd angles or distances to estimate, no struts to complicate the process, and no need to measure the pole heights because the fly will naturally limit them to the correct height.
Once pitched, the ease-of-use continues with magnetic door toggles on the fly, along with magnetic door toggles on the inner doors (an industry first). Entry is easy with large doorways that are not blocked by trekking poles (like most competing tents). Instead, the X-Mid puts the vestibules beside the door in an easy to reach spot which also creates a shorter reach to close the fly. The X-Mid Pro 2+ also provides a tensioned floor that lies taut and wrinkle free, dual doorways, dual vestibules, and premium zippers that operate one handed.

QUALITY
In addition to the highest performance design, the X-Mid Pro has higher quality than any other Dyneema tent. We build these tents at the most experienced tent factory in the world for Dyneema Composite Fabrics using hot bonded technology that gives stronger seams than quicker cold taping or sewing methods. Our production process also includes a proprietary pre-shrinking process for Dyneema® so the shape is more stable over time and avoids shrinkage which affects other Dyneema Composite Fabrics tents. Additionally, we use thoughtful design and reinforcements to avoid stressing the fabric diagonally (on the 'bias') which adds costs but prevents premature degradation.
We also go a step further in many other ways including tighter tolerances for panel dimensions than other brands, a long list of additional requirements and checks, and pitching each tent twice for quality inspections before it ships to you. This premium quality gives the X-Mid Pro 2+ a substantially higher cost of production than competing tents.

The X-Mid Pro 2+ is the worlds lightest tent that can fit two wide rectangular pads. It has a generous 52" wide floor with a long length and best in class headroom thanks to the patented X-Mid geometry that creates more volume from two poles.
Dyneema® Composite Fabrics are extremely strong and highly waterproof (15,000mm).
Premium hot bonded construction is a more costly production method than sewing or cold taping but provides stronger seams.
We use a proprietary pre-shrinking process to create a Dyneema Composite Fabrics shelter that doesn't deform over time or shrink to create wavy zippers. Dyneema® shelters from most other brands gradually shrink and deform which means they don't pitch as well over time.
We align all stress lines with the Dyneema® fibers and/or add Dyneema® tape reinforcement so that the panels are never stressed diagonally (on the 'bias'). Other Dyneema® shelters often put major stress lines diagonally across the fabric to save costs but this deteriorates the material and shortens the tents lifespan.
Ultra-simple pitch uses just four stakes in an intuitive rectangle shape. There is no measuring, odd angles, or mandatory struts and guylines. Competing tents require 6-10 stakes, sometimes mandatory struts and guylines, and measuring or estimating odd angles and pole heights.
Full coverage fly extends low to block drafts and rain splatter, but can also be pitched higher for more ventilation. Other tents trim away the bottom of the fly to save weight but this leaves you more exposed to drafts and rain splatter.
Dual magnetic door toggle system allows both the fly doors and inner doors to be quickly secured.

FAQ
Yes. Wide pads are getting more popular but most ultralight tents are too small to fit dual wide (25") pads. The ones that claim they can fit dual wide pads are often wide enough only at one end, so they only work with wide pads that are tapered. Some wide pads are tapered (e.g. Thermarest models) but many aren't (e.g. Nemo Tensor) which is why the X-Mid Pro 2+ has 52" of width throughout the full length so it works with any two 25" wide pads.
Our Dyneema® floors use Dyneema Composite Fabric 0.66 which has a thick outer layer only on the underside (where you need it) and not on the top side (where the regular thickness is sufficient) so that it offers similar durability to more common Dyneema Composite Fabric 0.96 floors while being lighter and packing smaller. We think this version is a better all around balance for an ultralight floor because it provides a good lifespan when used with care, while saving weight and reducing the packed size.
Compared to our 15D woven floor, we find durability is similar for the two floor options. Dyneema Composite Fabric 0.66 has an advantage in resisting tears while the woven floor has an advantage with abrasion but overall durability is quite similar. As such, the decision on which floor to choose mostly comes down to cost and weight. The Dyneema® floors come at a higher cost but enable an extra weight savings of about 2oz / 60g.
Aside from these main considerations, there are a few smaller considerations. A woven floor has the advantage of packing smaller yet and the silicone coating on the bottom can be re-applied in the future if needed, while a Dyneema® floor dries faster and is quieter. Both floors can be repaired with repair tape, but the repair tapes for Dyneema® are color matched to the material so they look better.
Overall, we recommend choosing the woven floor for the best value and smallest packed size, or choosing the Dyneema® floor for the absolute lowest weight and faster drying.
Yes. The X-Mid Pro 2+ is a highly spacious tent that is designed for two people sleeping in the same direction and provides more head clearance on both sides of the tent than most competing shelters.
The X-Mid geometry has a diagonal ridgeline to create more volume. This extra volume is added moreso on one side such that the normal X-Mid Pro 2 has very generous headroom on one side but more average headroom on the other, causing some people to prefer to sleep head to toe so they both get extra headroom (even though when sleeping the same way the lower side still has as much headroom as competing tents).
With the larger 2+ version, the geometry has been further optimized for sleeping the same direction by making the tent larger, taller, and reducing the angle of the ridgeline. As a result, now both sides have substantially more head clearance than A-frame style competing tents. One side still has some extra (put the taller hiker here), but both sides have better head clearance than its main competitors.
The X-Mid tents do have a unique floorplan with a parallelogram floor. To get the best use from this, the person on the lower side should sleep away from the lower corner at their head (leave this for gear storage), which improves head clearance and conveniently puts both sleepers in a normal side by side position while having gear storage at two opposite corners of the tent.
A singlewall or 'hybrid' tent is when the floor of the tent is sewn to the fly so the canopy has just one layer instead of having a second inner layer of bug mesh or fabric. The X-Mid Pro is singlewall in some parts (ends, roof) but still doublewall in other areas (sides) so it can be called a hybrid tent.
The design is 100% bug proof and brings substantial weight savings. The downsides are that you don’t have the ability to use the fly and inner separately, and that there aren’t mesh inner walls in all areas to prevent you from touching the fly if there is condensation.
The X-Mid Pro 2+ has every possible advantage to minimize condensation (e.g. large peak vents, spacious) and it is not more prone to condensation than other tents, but if condensation does occur you do need to be more careful not to touch it. The X-Mid Pro makes this easier than most single wall tents because it is more spacious, has mesh walls on both sides, and has steep end walls to avoid contact.
The X-Mid Pro 2+ has a length inside the fly that is 6″ longer than it’s main competitors because the fly length is similar at 100" except you sleep on a 20 degree angle so the length inside the fly is 106″. The floor length is still about the same but this longer fly gives increased headroom at both ends.
The X-Mid geometry creates improved headroom on both sides including very good headroom on one side, so if one sleeper is quite tall we recommend putting them on the higher side. This side is recommended to 6'6" while the lower side is recommended to 6'2". We think that is a realistic estimate (not some inflated marketing answer) but the actual outcome varies depending on several factors including how bulky your sleeping setup is, how straight you sleep (e.g. side vs back sleepers), and how much space you think is enough.
If you are solo then you can sleep on the diagonal for extraordinary length, but the X-Mid Pro 2+ is likely overkill for this and even the regular X-Mid Pro 2 would provide ample length for the tallest solo hikers.
Our 15D silnylon and Dyneema® floor options are similar in durability. Both have been selected as a balance between lightweight and durability, where we select the lightest material that we still think is okay to use without a groundsheet (provided it is used with care and not on unusually harsh surfaces like gravel).
As such, we say a groundsheet is not required but about 50% of users prefer to have one as added protection and/or to keep their floor cleaner. We do offer optional groundsheets and recommend them for users who wanted added protection, don't want to check their sites for sharp objects, and/or who camp on harsher surfaces like rock.
Our stake kit includes 8 stakes total in two sizes. Four of the stakes are large 8" DAC J stakes weighing 16g each and offering excellent strength and holding power (better than even full size MSR Groundhogs stakes). These are ideal for the four corners of the tent.
The other four stakes are a smaller 6" version of the DAC J stake weighing just 7g each. We recommend using these at any optional stake points you may choose to use.

I LOVE my new X-mid Pro 2+ tent and took it backpacking through the highlands of Scotland recently. I appreciate the spacious size and light weight of this tent as well as how quick it is to pitch even for windy conditions. The only mishap we had was a night of unexpectedly VERY high winds. During setup I had trouble getting the stake in the ground more than half way on one of the 4 corners (left front in the attached pic). We added a heavy rock on top of the rope as extra insurance in case the winds picked up, and also used the high wind additional stake-out lines to support the peak (but not the side lines). The tent held up amazingly well through most of the night with gusts in excess of 70mph!!! Towards morning the stake-out rope with the rock on top abraded through. I believe this to be my mistake for using the rock rather than re-pitching the tent in another location, and am very happy to have a tent that I feel is storm worthy! Any advice for pitching with rocks to avoid abrasion please let me know and thanks for such a great tent!

We’re very happy about purchasing the x-mid pro2+ after a weekend backpacking trip in Finnish wilderness. The tent was fast and easy to pitch with trekking poles. The terrain was quite rocky and sandy but still with only six stakes the pitch was secure enough. The temperature during the night was around few degrees of Celsius above freezing. In the morning the dyneema fly was wet inside from condensation, but we were expecting that and just wiped it dry with a towel and didn’t face any issues like gear getting wet. Even though we knew the temperature was going to drop during the night we pitched the fly a little higher from the ground and kept the top vents open to reduce condensation. All together we can definitely recommend the tent after our first trip. The fast and easy pitch makes it a solid piece of gear especially during longer hikes.

Hi Dan, you've engineered and manufactured a work of art. However, my brand new X-Mid Pro 2 + did come out of the box with a small round puncture hole at the peak where the trekking poles go. Not a big deal, I'll have to patch it up with some DFC tape, but something worth passing on to your QC team. Thank you.
