X-Mid Groundsheet

Sale price$48.00 USD

Tent Model: X-Mid Pro 2

Our factory built groundsheets offer greater protection and a cleaner floor for your X-Mid tent. The stock X-Mid floor is durable enough to last hundreds of nights without a groundsheet provided it is used with care on regular surfaces. A groundsheet is recommended for camping on harsher surfaces (e.g. rock, gravel), to provide a greater level of protection against unforeseen objects, and to keep your tent cleaner.

QUALITY

While many companies are content to sell you a piece of tyvek or a simple bit of fabric, we think groundsheets should be built to the same high quality standards as the tent you are using it with.

Our groundsheets are built using top of the line custom materials and construction methods. Unlike perhaps any other company, our groundsheets are fully double stitched, use double folded edges (to hide the raw fabric edges), have generous bartacking, and reinforce all of the connection points.

Unnecessary perhaps, but for a negligible weight difference we can make a groundsheet to be proud of.

USAGE & COMPATIBILITY

Our groundsheets are the same shape as the floor (they do not cover the vestibule). To use the groundsheet, position it logo side up and slide it under the floor and clip it to the four floor corners. The ground sheet can be left attached to the tent or removed if you wish. We suggest normally leaving it attached but removing it when drying the tent.

High quality material

Light and durable material, high quality. Only used on one trip so far.

One a small complaint:
I believe my groundsheet is missing attachment hardware. There’s no shock chord on the ‘long corners’ and no additional chord at the ‘short corners’. This means clipping into the fly is off-kilter, even if I rig up my own chord for the short corners. Without the shock chord, the 'long corners' are too tight clipped into the fly. The floor is taught and raised off the ground. I worry this tightness places harmful tension on the rainfly's D-rings and seams. Maybe the groundsheet clips to the inner tent now?

Edit: Thanks for the clarification Dan. Makes sense how leaving the ground sheet clipped to the floor is easier to pack & unpack. Changed the review to 5*.

Hi James,

Yes. We did update our groundsheet designs so now they clip to the corners of the floor instead of having cords to clip out to the fly. This makes them simpler and lighter. If you do want to clip to the fly you'll have to add some cords (particularly at the two vestibules corners where the longer cords used to be).

Perfect tent

I really like the x mid 1 person tent. A small pack size, lightweight and spacious inside. Easy to set up and take down. Very happy with it. Also with the service and the community on Facebook where you can find lots of tips and ask questions. happy greetings Ine from the Netherlands
