X-Dome Pro 1+
Our first release of the X-Dome Pro 1+ has now sold out within minutes. We apologize to those who missed out because we know that is frustrating. Please know it is not our intention to make these hard to get but due to material shortages we couldn't build as many as we hoped.

World's Lightest Freestanding Doublewall Tent
The X-Dome Pro™ 1+ combines our weight efficient and functional X-Dome geometry with state of the art Dyneema® materials to create a freestanding tent with unprecedented space, simplicity, and protection for the weight. It is palatial and capable - while also being the world's lightest freestanding doublewall tent at just 780 g (27.5 oz).
CONCEPT
Our award winning and patent pending X-Dome design has been developed from the first principles of geometry to create a more spacious, user friendly, and functional tent while also being simpler and lighter. The architecture creates more space from less fabric, a stronger structure from a lighter pole set, and greater ease of use from a simpler shape.
In our flagship Pro version, this geometry is combined with advanced materials that further optimize the weight and function, including superlight and stronger Dyneema® Composite Fabrics, a next generation pure carbon pole set from Easton including full carbon inserts, and premium superlight interior zippers from YKK. It's the most functional tent geometry combined with the most functional materials.
PROTECTION
More important to us than a tent that wins on the scale, is a tent that helps you thrive in tough conditions. That's why the X-Dome Pro retains all the performance of the regular version and takes it even further with higher performance fabrics.
The protection starts with the structurally optimized carbon pole set that makes the X-Dome Pro stronger than comparable tents for reliable 3-season performance, while further allowing you to add your trekking poles in a unique counter-opposing fashion to complete the crossbar into a robust third arch. With those poles and guylines in place, the X-Dome Pro 1+ approaches 4-season levels of performance including successful testing in winds above 100 km/hr (60 mph).
Often more important than outright strength though, is how liveable the tent is in tough weather. This is where the X-Dome Pro really stands out with its spacious interior combined with a comprehensive set of protections including a natural fly first pitch (so the interior stays dry during setup in the rain), a low fly edge (to block rain splatter), an overhanging doorway (to keep out falling rain), a doublewall design (to separate you from any condensation), dual peak vents (to minimize condensation), and Dyneema® fabrics that are non-sag, fast dry, and extraordinarily waterproof. No other tent can claim this list.
SPACIOUS
The X-Dome Pro 1+ shares its palatial interior dimensions with the regular version of the X-Dome 1+ including it's large floor, outstanding headroom, generous length, and spacious vestibule.
With 23.5 sq ft (2.2 sq m) of space, the floor area rivals smaller 2P tents and fits solo hikers with room to spare for backpacks, other gear inside, and even a second person in a pinch. The generous 90" of floor length combined with near vertical end walls makes it well suited for tall hikers.
The peak height of 42" is 3-5" taller than comparable tents and extends over more of the interior - creating remarkable headroom that contributes to the spacious feel of the tent and makes it an easy space to get changed and organized.
Importantly, the X-Dome Pro 1+ also has a generous 9.2 sq ft vestibule, which is ideal for storing wet gear and packs while still having room for shoes and cooking.
External Carbon Fiber Poles
The X-Dome Pro uses a second generation Easton carbon fiber pole set with new carbon inserts. These poles are positioned outside the fly so the tent simply and intuitively pitches fly first. This is essential for keeping the interior dry during setup in the rain, yet uniquely can also pitch inner only for stargazing on summer nights.
The X-Dome Pro can also pitch with the inner tent already connected inside ("combined pitch") or added later, and it is 100% freestanding with no mandatory stakes - including being able to deploy the vestibules without stakes via a trekking pole.
Crossbar + Trekking Poles
The X-Dome Pro poleset uses a crossbar to boost headroom, increase the doorway height, and enable an overhanging doorway so rain won't fall inside.
The fly is also equipped with pocket at the ends of the crossbar so trekking poles can be added as extra supports which complete the crossbar into a sturdy additional arch.
These trekking poles can be added in a unique counter balanced manner (angled inwards) so they directly support the sidewalls against deflection while giving the X-Dome higher strength than almost all other ultralight tents.
Dyneema Fabrics
The X-Dome Pro uses superlight Dyneema® Composite Fabrics for the fly and floor. These materials weigh roughly half of traditional ultralight fabrics, while being substantially stronger, more waterproof, and faster drying due to the near zero water weight gain.
These fabrics also increase performance because their near zero stretch makes the tent more rigid.
Generous Vestibule
The vestibule on the X-Dome Pro 1+ is generously sized and positioned beside the doorway instead of blocking it like most tents, so you can pack it full of gear and still easily get in and out of the tent.
You can stake out the small side of the door to fully establish the vestibule, use an angled trekking pole instead to stake it out, or roll back the small side of the door and the X-Dome Pro still has an overhanging porch.
The vestibule is also easy to reach and work in because the interior has a 3-way zipper that allows the entire side of the interior to be opened and rolled back.
Highly Spacious
As a "1+" sized tent, the X-Dome Pro 1+ is far more spacious than other ultralight 1P tents, and similar in interior volume to smaller 2P tents.
The X-Dome Pro 1+ has a generous 90" of length and a floor that widens to 50" at the head end for lots of gear storage space at this end, plus class leading headroom from the 42" interior height (3-5" taller than comparable tents).
SIMPLICITY
A focus with our tents is making them simple and intuitive to use, so you can focus on your adventure rather than your gear.
A core part of that is the simpler rectangular pitch, where the X-Dome Pro can pitch with the fly and inner pre-connected to save time, plus the pole set is fully interconnected so there are no pieces to misplace, and it is 100% freestanding including no requirement to even stake the vestibule, so you can let the conditions determine which stakes you use rather than the tent requiring certain ones.
The ease of use continues at the doorways, which are taller than any comparable tent for easier entry and exit, plus the reach to close the fly door is shorter so it can be easily managed without leaning out of the tent, and there are dual magnetic door toggles on both the fly and interior doors so it is instantaneous to secure the doors.
Other subtle but important details include the vestibule location that is beside the door instead of blocking it, dual interior pockets, four interior hang loops, and the non-absorbent Dyneema® fabric that can be shaken almost dry.
Overall, the X-Dome Pro 1+ is not only amazingly light but also extraordinarily spacious, highly capable, and remarkably simple. It's an amazing place to spend time and ready for almost any conditions from the John Muir Trail to the West Highland Way.
